Alberta iGaming: pre-launch state of play (4 days out)

Alberta's regulated online gambling market launches 13/07/2026 under the iGaming Alberta Act (Bill 48, Royal Assent 15/05/2025), with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) as regulator and the newly created Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) handling commercial operator agreements.

As of the most recent public snapshot (25/06/2026), 46 corporate operators representing roughly 50 consumer-facing brands had completed AGLC registration — including FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, theScore Bet, bet365, BetRivers, PointsBet Canada and the government-run PlayAlberta. That count has moved almost every week since registration opened on 13/01/2026 and will keep moving through launch week — see our operators tracker for the dated snapshot and always check AiGC's own operator page for the current list.

AGLC has confirmed centralised self-exclusion will be live from day one, covering all registered iGaming operators alongside Alberta's land-based casinos and racing entertainment centres. The market is expected to broadly mirror Ontario's competitive, multi-operator model — including an advertising restriction on bonuses and inducements to the general public — though AGLC's final advertising standard should be verified directly before anyone relies on the specifics.

Verdikt's posture for Alberta does not change at launch: we list zero offshore operators for Alberta before or after 13/07/2026, because Alberta is moving to a licensed-only regime. Our Alberta coverage is authority and legality content — the complete launch guide, the Alberta-vs-Ontario comparison, what changes for players outside Alberta, and the grey-market channelisation explainer — not an operator shelf.
