History & dynasties
QB Joe Kapp and coach Dave Skrien led the Lions' first championship era from 1963 to 1967, winning the 1964 Grey Cup.
Under coach Don Matthews, BC became a Western Division powerhouse from 1983 to 1987 after moving into BC Place, winning the 1985 Grey Cup.
A long run of consistency from 1997 to 2016 brought 20 consecutive playoff appearances and titles in 1994, 2000, 2006, and 2011.
Structural notes
- BC Place has a retractable, cable-supported roof — the only fully weatherproof stadium in the CFL, removing rain/snow-game variance entirely from Lions home games.
