Calgary Flames
Calgary's lone Stanley Cup (1989) is a genuine historical footnote — won on the road in Montreal — and the franchise, which began as the Atlanta Flames in 1972, is mid-rebuild after trading away core veterans in 2025-26.

History & dynasties
The franchise began life as the Atlanta Flames in 1972 before relocating to Calgary in 1980 — the same continuous franchise, just a different city for its first eight seasons.
Calgary's only Stanley Cup came in 1989, won on Montreal's home ice at the Forum — the only visiting team ever to clinch a title there.
Structural notes
- Rasmus Andersson and Jonathan Huberdeau were both traded mid-way through the 2025-26 season, marking an active roster teardown/retool rather than a contending-year roster.
